After purchasing this 1925 Longfellow Bungalow in 2000, the homeowners got to work, remodeling the upper half story by adding a dormer to create a full master suite. This project also included updates to the kitchen and the addition of a mudroom.
In 2012, an ashbox in the coal room ignited and caused a fire in the basement. The restoration focused on bringing back period splendor (with some updates and improvements).
The basement needed to be completely re-framed, so they took advantage of the opportunity to redefine the space, opening the stairs, adding a bedroom, hiding formerly exposed mechanicals and plumbing, giving the bathroom a makeover, insulating properly, putting radiators on a zone system and building the coolest grandkid playroom on the block.
